Bruce Allen Bechdel is born in Beech Creek, Pennsylvania on April 8th.
1959
Bruce and Helen Bechdel are married in Switzerland. At the time, Bruce was stationed in Germany with the US army.
1962
The window of time in which we get to know "young Alison" in her childhood.
1969
1977-81
Alison leaves high school a year early to attend college. She starts at Simon's Rock College, and transfers to Oberlin in 1979.
The Stonewall Riots take place in June of this year.
March 1980
Alison comes out as a lesbian at the age of 19.
Bruce Bechdel is hit by a truck on highway 150 and killed.
