Tagalog
An Austronesian language spoken in Luzon and neighboring islands and forming the basis of the standardized national language of the Philippines (Filipino). Its vocabulary has been much influenced by Spanish and English, and to some extent by Chinese, Sanskrit, Tamil, and Malay.

A type of baked rice cake made up of rice flour and coconut milk in Filipino cuisine that is cooked in a terracotta oven lined with banana leaves and is usually eaten for breakfast or as a midday snack, especially during the Christmas season.
A sour soup that is a staple in many Philipino households. The word sinigang in Tagalog means “stewed dish,” which refers to the cooking method. The sour flavor is most often tamarind but can also be unripe mangos or rice vinegar. It also typically contains pork, tomato, string beans, and spinach.
oil of oregano
In the Phillipines oregano is most commonly considered medicinal, rather than used for cooking. It is used to treat children’s coughs.
Nalgene
A brand of waterbottle. Typically 32 oz, plastic with a wide mouth and twist-off plastic cap attached to the bottle with a tether.

The Filipino core value of Utang na Loob refers to an obligation to appropriately repay a person who has done you a favor. In this context, "value" refers to a shared personhood or shared self. You literally owe a part of yourself to this person.
