THE MUSICAL
Once upon a time there was an animated movie that had potential to become a great musical with a cast of fairy-tale characters and a journey of a hero. However, the creators did not want to the the same exact story for Shrek: The Musical as Shrek the movie. So, the musical world of Shrek is a little different from the movie world of Shrek. The big difference is that the musical provides a backstory for Shrek and Princess Fiona that was not in the movie at all. There is also a little difference between the specific fairy-tale characters between the movie and the musical.
